But…I have tests & information from another dentist, can you just use that?
While we appreciate that you have previous tests and information from another dentist, it is still essential for our team at Green City Dental to conduct a comprehensive dental exam. By performing our own examination, we can ensure that we have a complete understanding of your current oral health and can provide you with the most accurate and personalized treatment plan possible.

"A quick checkup is like reading the first page of a mystery novel…
Our comprehensive exams are about uncovering the whole story of your dental health."

3D Cone X-Ray: Why we require it.
At our dental practice, we require a 3D Cone X-Ray for a comprehensive examination to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This technology provides a detailed view of your teeth, bones, and surrounding structures, allowing us to detect any hidden dental issues and provide the best care possible. Our commitment to your oral health and wellbeing makes this necessary step an integral part of our comprehensive approach.
But…do I really need a current 3D X-Ray?
Yes, having a current 3D Cone X-Ray is necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Our dental practice relies on this technology to detect any hidden dental issues and provide you with the best possible care. It ensures that we have the most up-to-date information about your teeth, bones, and surrounding structures to make informed decisions and create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Next up: Bacteria & Pathogen Testing
Cavity bacteria test
The cavity bacteria test is one aspect of the bacteria and pathogen testing. It specifically focuses on identifying the presence of bacteria that are known to cause tooth decay. This test can provide valuable information about your oral health and guide your dentist in customized treatment recommendations.
Pathogen testing
Pathogen testing involves identifying any harmful microorganisms in your mouth that can contribute to various oral diseases and infections. By conducting this test, we can determine the presence of viruses, bacteria, and fungi that may be impacting your oral health.
PH & Mouth Acidity
PH Saliva Testing
PH Saliva Testing is another important aspect of bacteria and pathogen testing. It measures the acid levels in your saliva, which can indicate the acidity of your mouth. Monitoring your mouth's acidity is crucial as it can affect the growth of harmful bacteria and the development of oral diseases.
Mercury & Metal Fillings
Mercury and metal fillings are another consideration in bacteria and pathogen testing. This testing can determine if there are any leaching of mercury or other metals from dental fillings, which can have implications for your overall oral health.
Galvanic Testing
Galvanic testing is a method used to detect any electrical currents or interactions between different types of dental materials in your mouth. This is significant because these interactions can lead to the release of toxic substances, potentially causing harm to your oral health.
Additional tests & screenings during your exam (did we say it was comprehensive?)

1

TMJ & Jaw Palpation
During your dental exam, it is important to also include screenings for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction and jaw palpation. These assessments help evaluate the health and functionality of your jaw joint, as well as any potential issues related to jaw movement or pain.

2

Oral Cancer Screening
An oral cancer screening is a crucial part of your dental exam. It involves a visual examination of your mouth, checking for any abnormalities, sores, or suspicious lesions that may be indicative of oral cancer.

3

Gum Health
Gum health is another important aspect to assess during a dental exam. This involves checking for signs of gum disease such as redness, swelling, or bleeding.

4

Teeth Health: Decay & Cracks
Teeth health is a key component of a comprehensive dental exam. The dentist will carefully assess every tooth for signs of decay, looking for any cavities that may need to be addressed. Additionally, they will check for cracks or fractures in the teeth, which can compromise oral health and require treatment.

5

Airway
An airway assessment is an important part of a dental exam as it helps identify any potential breathing or sleep-related issues. The dentist may evaluate the size and shape of your airway, as well as any obstructions or abnormalities that could affect your breathing patterns or quality of sleep. This assessment can help identify conditions such as sleep apnea and guide appropriate treatment if necessary.

Our Recommendations
Based on the findings from the dental exam and diagnostics, our recommendations may include undergoing treatments such as fillings, dental cleanings, or orthodontic procedures to address any issues identified.
Your Decision on What & When
Ultimately, the decision of what treatments to undergo and when to proceed lies in your hands. The dentist will provide you with all the necessary information and guidance to make an informed decision that aligns with your dental health goals and personal preferences.
